Stephanie S Silva is a Japanese-Brazilian illustrator born, raised and currently residing in São Paulo.
She has a BFA in Illustration from California College of the Arts, and an MFA in Illustration and Visual Culture from Sam Fox School of Art & Design.
Her illustration explores gesture and movement, and focuses on how the body takes up space – in fashion, dance, sports and performance art. She also likes illustrating poems, especially if they were written by Cecília Meireles.
Her writing focuses on personal experience, identity, and media criticism.
If the sun is shining brighter than her light box or her laptop screen, she will concede to wearing sunglasses indoors.
